We were genuinely surprised by the quality and the quantity of rolls served here at Umi Umi. Having had sushi and rolls from tons of places around DFW, I can say that this place is indeed special. We had the Payday and the Spicy Crunch Salmon rolls. Both of them were delightful, but we especially liked the Spicy Crunch Salmon. The 'salad' style topping was really flavourful and very unique. The restaurant was kind enough to give us a dish on the house, which unfortunately I don't know the name of. That too tasted fantastic although I couldn't find it in their menu. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. Highly recommended
When I say some of the best sushi I’ve had in a while. Service was great and the food was amazing. The unique and flavorful rolls they have are over the top good. My husband really enjoyed the flavor and seasoning of the broth from the ramen. Will definitely be taking another field trip to enjoy the food again.
Best Japanese place I have been to in a long time. The food came out fast and was so delicious, and it’s really not that expensive for what you get. Will definitely make the drive to come to this place again
We randomly found this hidden gem while searching for a new sushi spot in the Plano East area. We've been here a couple of times, and we’re always impressed with the quality of the sushi. They offer surprisingly large and unique sushi options. So far, from all the sushi rolls we've tried, my favorite has to be the Love Roll. The Love Roll features deep-fried scallops and avocado, topped with fresh scallops, eel, spicy mayo, creamy wasabi, and sriracha. This roll melts in your mouth with the freshest, creamiest flavor. I also enjoyed the Heart Attack Roll, which has a nice kick from the jalapeno. The restaurant is cozy, with quite a few tables. The staff is efficient, friendly, and always ready to provide great recommendations. I can't wait to go back and try some new rolls!
This little place was delicious. It is no frills. It is BYOB for booze. The music was jpop and jrock. If you can't handle that vibe... not the place for you. The sushi, however, was delicious. Food came quickly. I'd do take out from here any day.
We visited Umi Umi during a trip to Dallas for a baseball tournament, looking for a great sushi spot after our original plan fell through. We were blown away by the quality of their rolls! The flavors were fresh, creative, and absolutely delicious. The service was fantastic, and the atmosphere made our dining experience even better. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town. Highly recommend!
WOW! This place is amazing! The size of the rolls and nigiri (sushi) is big, the tempura and other cooked foods are so good, the quality is top tier, and the staff are so nice! Will most definitely be back again with different friends so I could eat here multiple times Totally worth the drive out here even if you don't live in Plano!
Very delicious! The service was courteous and kind. The food was excellent, presented hot and fresh. I chose the lunch special of deep dish California roll and tempura roll. The lunch deal includes the rolls of your choice, miso soup, and a salad. There were many options, and it was exciting to choose! The portion sizes are very filling as well. I got a roll on the house as well, very sweet!
